Before the UEFA Champions League League Stage match between “Qarabağ” and “Copenhagen” (Denmark), a press conference was held with our team’s head coach Gurban Gurbanov and midfielder Leandro Andrade. They shared their thoughts about the upcoming match to be played tomorrow.
Gurban Gurbanov said that hosting a Champions League match in Baku excites everyone: “It is pleasing that the first game of such a major tournament will be held in Baku. We are both happy and very excited and responsible. Since it’s the first match, we know the attention is great. There is strong interest in the match from every region of Azerbaijan. We have prepared for the game as best as we could. The time was short. We will be playing against a very good and serious team. I believe my players will fight well with their skills and abilities, and they will try to make our fans happy.”
Leandro Andrade also emphasized that it will be an important game: “This is an important match for all of us. We will try to make the people of Azerbaijan happy. We have the chance to do it again. That motivates us to show our best performance on the pitch. Our stadium is beautiful. Copenhagen is also a great team. In the Champions League, every team is strong. We will do our very best.”
