Following the UEFA Champions League league stage third-round match between Athletic (Spain) and Qarabağ (3:1), our head coach Gurban Gurbanov shared his thoughts. The experienced manager evaluated the match at the post-game press conference:
“It was a very interesting match for the fans. We would have liked at least not to lose, and we had our chances for that. Yesterday, I said that we would fight until the very end — and today my players proved it. We faced a very dynamic and fast team. Although it wasn’t easy, our players stood firm against the opponent. I want to thank our supporters who didn’t leave us alone in such a wonderful atmosphere. As the tournament goes on, the opponents are getting stronger and the responsibility grows. With each round, every team will be trying to increase their points. We will continue to play with discipline and fight well in the upcoming matches.”
