Today, our club visited the Karabakh region. The management, coaching staff and footballers visited the liberated cities of Aghdam, Fuzuli, Shusha and Khankendi within the framework of a joint project with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
After landing at Fuzuli airport, the first stop was the city of Shusha, the crown of Karabakh. In addition to students, the city residents also participated in the meeting organized at secondary school No. 1. Shusha residents warmly welcomed our team, talked with the footballers and coaches, and took pictures. The school administration was presented with a commemorative gift by the General Director of our club and a member of the Board of Directors, Emrah Çelikel.
The next gift was presented to the administration of Karabakh University located in the city of Khankendi. Rector Shahin Bayramov welcomed our team and introduced them to the university's auditoriums, laboratories and library. During the event, commemorative photos were taken and opinions were exchanged on various topics. In the city center, residents had the opportunity to communicate closely with our footballers.
The next stop was their native Aghdam. Our first acquaintance in the city we proudly represent was with the new "Imarat" stadium, founded by Mr. President Ilham Aliyev. The delegation was given detailed information about the stadium and the city's master plan.
In the center where the historical stadium is located, which currently operates as the "Imarat" complex, Aghdam residents enthusiastically welcomed their home team. The championship trophy was demonstrated to the fans by Mushfig Huseynov, one of the legendary footballers of our club, who currently works as the assistant to head coach Gurban Gurbanov, along with captain Badavi Huseynov. Club members were given detailed information about the venues. Residents who expressed satisfaction with meeting their "heroes" were happy to take pictures with the footballers and coaches. The team members then visited the Aghdam Juma Mosque.
At the end of the visit, our club members left for Fuzuli. After meeting with residents in the city center and taking pictures with them, the football players and coaches also visited Mirza Ulugbey Secondary School No. 1 and presented a souvenir.
After the visit, the delegation headed to Fuzuli Airport and returned to Baku.
It should be noted that on December 24, 2024, during his speech at the ceremony dedicated to the sports results of the year, the President of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, called on Azerbaijani athletes to visit the Karabakh and East Zangezur regions.
