"Our team’s performance gives hope for the future"

Our team’s head coach, Gurban Gurbanov, who is currently in Austria for a training camp, gave a statement to our website. He shared his thoughts on today’s friendly matches against the Dutch club Twente (3:2, 1:2):

"We had two good matches. We gave all our players the opportunity to play 90 minutes. We were up against a strong, disciplined opponent with a good football philosophy. What mattered most was what we did on the pitch rather than the result. It's not right to expect the players to flawlessly execute all our plans at this stage. Mistakes are inevitable. However, in both matches, our team’s performance gave hope for the future. It was the most important day of the preparation period. It’s also pleasing that we completed the matches without injuries."

The head coach also commented on the performances of new signings Dani Bolt and Pedro Bicalho: "Things are improving both from training to training and from game to game. Both of them are responsible players. Of course, they haven’t shown their full potential yet. I believe that with time, they will get into better form."
